Summer to Fall Tablescape

It's almost fall, can you feel it in the air? But not quite yet. I thought I'd show you how to take a simple end of summer setting and turn it into a first of fall tablescape.

I pulled together some simple pieces that would transition well.  Rustic chargers from World Market (I think). A basic white charger plate, Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates and a yellow bowl.

Rustic napkin rings on yellow napkins with my favorite handblown glasses. Totally great for dining outside in the late summer. Indian summer, warm days and cool nights.

Sunflowers are placed in a flower trug as a table centerpiece. Be sure to drop the ends in the flower vials so that they will last.

I also added some rustic hurricanes for dining by candlelight. It does get dark much earlier these days.

This Fitz and Floyd pitcher is equally at home on a summer table as one for the fall.

This sweetie flew right into the basket of sunflowers. He came to me all the way from Ash Tree Cottage! Susan and Bentley had a giveaway and I was the lucky winner. Totally lucky because we have yellow tile in our kitchen and he is the perfect accessory for the large window in there. Perfect. Thank you again Susan and Bentley! You guys need to hop over to visit, their blog is chock full of great stuff. Always.

Are you ready to jump into fall with just a few simple changes?

Can you spot the differences?

Horchow's had another sale today, so I replaced this flatware. My son shopped the house and I was gracious enough to let him have this set. I did change out the napkins.

I switched out the centerpiece for the succulents that are still doing so well. First time ever I've kept them looking this good for an entire summer!!!! I challenged myself this year. If Delores at Vignette Design could do it, well so could I!

Then I added these large amber hurricanes.

Just ignore the brick work going on.. I can hardly wait till the brick gets leveled again this fall. Said tongue in cheek, but ever so thankfully.

Because the bowls aren't a bright yellow, they transition really well.

And that my dear friends is how easy it is to transition a set of dishes between two seasons. Always easier to than one thinks.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I love company and your comments are bright spots in the days!
