Monday Photo of the Week - dappled light

I love how the morning sun presents herself in dappled light in our backyard.
It's a source of constant pleasure for me.
Pied Beauty
by Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844 – 1889)

Glory be to God for dappled things—
For skies of couple-color as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh fire-coal chestnut falls; finches wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.
I wish you many  blessings this week.

What a wonderful post, each dappled photo is gorgeous. My favorite has to be the watering can with the fern, just lovely.

Not only do I love your photos, I love the words - dappled light! Don't you just want to say it over and over? Those words bring such a beautiful vision to mind don't they?

Hi Marlis,

Dappled sunlight photos -- a great way to start the week. These are lovely. Thanks for visiting my blog and taking time to leave a comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the rose photos; they are some of my very favorite of all our pictures. I wish our rosebush bloomed more often, but I opted for quality over quantity in this case. I just adore the blooms (like old-fashioned cabbage roses) and the fragrance. Have a good week.

Hugs,

Denise at Forest Manor
