Oh my, where has this year gone?
Really, it's already time to be ringing in the New Year?
It seems as if it were just a few short weeks ago I created last year's New Year table, as seen HERE.
Last year was all about silver, white snow, Snow Babies.
This year, it's all rustic glam.
Greenery from Christmas bedecked with spider mums and large white bells.
Lots of white candles on each end in a variety of candlesticks.
Even the chandelier is playing along!
Greenery, the same gold Christmas bells, white snowflakes, a string of white snowflakes garland dripping around the perimeter makes it all just a wee bit more festive.
I chose green, gold and silver beaded tassels to decorate the vintage damask,
monogrammed napkins.
A trio of candlesticks sits on each end of the greenery centerpiece.
Gold flatware and antique crystal play along with the
herringbone patterned gold charger.
And yes, the vintage champagne glasses are really going to be used for
some bubbly.
A classic white cloth sets the backdrop for all the drippy goldness on the table.
Tree stays up through epiphany. One more Christmas to celebrate at his house.
Love these Lenox swans.. they were given to new brides with purchases of complete place settings.
So graceful and elegant.
The stem detail on these pieces just makes me giddy with happiness!
Using these small plates for bread and butters. They belonged to my grandmother, but don't match any of her dishes. And German dishes don't normally come with bread and butters. At a loss about their history!
Loved these chargers. Passed them by the first time I saw them. The next trip to the store, they jumped in my arms screaming "Please, Please take me home! You know you need me!!"
Even stuck some gold and bronze pine cones into the centerpiece.
Love sitting down to a formal table, even in blue jeans!
You're invited, too!
So pretty when the candlelight glistens on the china, chargers, glasses.
A New Year's Prayer
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God's love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

So much to love about this one starting with the chargers, those gold dishes, the crystal (like you said the detail!), but my favorite has to be the centerpiece with the greens and spider mums. What a beautiful combination. Happy New Year!

I'm going to copy that New Year's Prayer to put on my cork board above my desk. This past year was so horrible, and I could have used it then! :-) Gorgeous table, Marlis, and I just love all the gold in it! Those humungous white jingle bells in the centerpiece are the coolest!!! I don't know why you passed up the chargers the first time....you knew they'd get you in the end! :-) Have a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!
