Tablescape in blue and yellow

It's still hot, but cooler, so an evening on the patio seemed to be just the thing. Turn on the misters and a fan or two and presto-chango it's much cooler. Especially after being cooped up in the house during the days of 100 plus temps.

I fell in love with this Waverly tablecloth and it promptly jumped into my basket, along with it's big brother (bigger size).

I know, I know. what's up with the constant use of those white chargers!! Well, I just love them I guess.

White dinner plate topped with European size dinner plate and the matching salad plate.

Blue flatware seemed to be perfect on the busy tablecloth.

Blue goblets filled with ice water and a refreshing slice of lemon.

Enzian. Gentian in English. This belonged to my grandmother, it's one of my favorite pieces.

God made a little Gentian —
It tried — to be a Rose —
And failed — and all the Summer laughed —
But just before the Snows
There rose a Purple Creature —
That ravished all the Hill —
And Summer hid her Forehead —
And Mockery — was still —
The Frosts were her condition —
The Tyrian would not come
Until the North — invoke it —
Creator — Shall I — bloom?

A perfect yellow linen napkin

A perfect blue vase filled with gypsophila, yellow carnations and some blue thistles.

A darling vase place card holder.. filled with creeping jenny, gypsophila and the blue thistle.

Here's a tip: Place your tablecloth on your scanner and print a color copy onto cardstock. Punch out with a circle (or square or heart or whatever) shape. Now you have matching placecards to your setting.

What a beautiful table setting!! Your setting has inspired me to start thinking about hosting a dinner gathering of friends. If I had those lovely white chargers, I think I would put them to work often, too!!

You have tablecloths hoping into your cart too??? lol... a table cloth and some place mats did exactly that , while I was shopping yesterday.. ;)

Wishing you a wonderful (and cooler) week...xo HHL

Blue, yellow, and white has been my favorite color combination for many years. This makes me so happy! The Waverly cloth is lovely. Do you all have a Home Goods in Lubbock? Oh my gosh, if so, I'm coming to see my sister as soon as possible. I can't believe that we don't have one here. The Enzian elevates the tablescape to a higher level...family treasures...always the best. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. Cherry Kay

Marlis, your tables just get better and better, and your collection of things to work with must be growing! Though I know how hot Texas is right now, your table made me think cool. Nice allusion!

Hi Marlis, I see we both have blue and yellow today--and I know what you mean about those chargers. I keep using them for so many different settings! I'm gad to see you can get outside now that, and your table definitely has a cool look. Linda

Your table looks so refreshing and cool even if it is so hot. Love the tablecloth and blue dishes. I would love to join you.

If I had those chargers, I'd use them on practically every single tablescape!! They're beautiful & so are all the other dishes on top of them. Beautiful tablecloth, too...very refreshing summer colors.

Thank you for the cute idea for making matching place cards. I never would have thought of that. Probably because I don't have a flat scanner...mine has to roll through it... but the next printer I buy surely will have one.

Well done, as always!!
Hugs,
Rett

Marlis, this is such a lovely table! the colors are gorgeous and the Waverly tablecloth is beautful. I have to admit, I have a weakness for Waverly prints. I always seem to drift toward them at JoAnns Home Decor fabric area.

Marlis, blue and yellow set a beautiful table. I think it is one of my favorite color combinations. Very French country! I'd use those white chargers over and over too if they were in my cupboards.
Like you, I'm tired of the triple digits but I know they are here to stay for the next few months. I feel so sorry for AZ at 118.
Stay cool! ~ Sarah
