Ralph's Roses Tablescape

Roses in November

The rich colors of the Ralph tablecloth required flowers that were vibrant and spoke volumes. The larger arrangement was on the table when guests arrived.

Amber glassware and salad plates along with aubergine napkins captured in beaded napkin rings play off the colors of the tablecloth.

Creating a bit of drama for your guests is always welcome!

Rosewood handles brassware is perfect for this table.

Special candles with gold lettering heighten the ambiance of the evening.

Lots of wood to repeat the element found in the flatware.

I love how the evening sun brings out the richness of the napkin color.

A hardwood bowl holds a glass vase, which is partially obscured by the Spanish moss.

These beaded napkin rings in golden hues pick up all the colors used.

Note the smaller centerpiece for when guests actually sit down. Personal additions seem to be great conversation starters.

Old copper develops a lovely patina when left to age naturally.

An antique photo provides instant relatives for the other side of the table.

Fitz and Floyd has the most interesting pieces! Love having a pitcher of water on the table.

fantastic table, and beautifully photographed. Highlights for me are the colors - purple and amber; wood elements repeated, chairs, flatware, wooden bowl; and the floral arrangements, especially the use of rosemary in the centerpiece. I love including elements of what will be served for dinner. I can almost smell the rosemary potatoes! Thanks for sharing your design. ~CJ

It's beautiful, Marlis! Just beautiful! I think that is a fabulous tablecloth pattern! I don't think I've ever seen it. The colors and the design are both so rich. You did a wonderful job with the flowers! Wow....so many flowers! I love working with roses and leucadendron because not only do they look fantastic, they last for a good long time. I can't remember the name of the berries...are they nandina berries? I would love to have a great supply of those available all winter! Love the way you switched out to a shorter floral arrangement during the meal, and I REALLY love that copper tub!!! Beautiful!!!

Hi Marlis,

This is just a stunning table! When I saw the title "Ralphs's Roses", I wondered if it was referring to Mr. Lauren. :) I do love his linens. Well everything on your table is just gorgeous. The flowers are eye-popping, and I love your candles with the gold script (I have some similar ones) and your beautiful cherub. Also love your antique photograph. All the elements add up to a beautiful and elegant table.

Sorry it took me so long to leave a comment. I looked at this last week, but have been so busy. Have a great day!
