Fall Roses Tablescape

When flowers walk in the house.. what's a girl to do?

Quickly set a table for dinner!
Throw the old matelasse over the table.
Drape your favorite shawl over the matelasse.
Plop the chenille pillows in the chairs.
Cook!

Bring out the candles.
Add a smaller rose confection to the table for visual interest when sitting down.

Thank God for the perfect evening.

Placemat, white dinner plate and transferware soup bowl.

Use your favorite silver.

Bring out the butter dish. Really, butter is good for the soul!

A nice pot of soup...

I totally love this scene...

Quickly pull out two glasses, one red one clear.

Love these flowers.. so very pretty. Who says everything fall has to be orange?

You make it look so easy, Marlis! This table is really gorgeous! It spells FALL without shouting, too. Love the idea of using the shawl -- I just bought one to wear that might look great with my wedding china!

Hey, Marlis! Before I forget...I didn't get your post this week. I don't know what's up. I've been a follower for some time. Maybe it's something weird going on with Google or Blogger or something. Anyhoooooo.....when those flowers walked in the door, you got BUSY!!! Walking flowers will do that for a girl! ;-) It's so nice that your husband brought you flowers that are really pretty with a lot of variety...like he took some time to pick them out. That's a good man! The table is beautiful...AS ALWAYS!!!...and your transferware is gorgeous. That IS a beautiful scene on it! I hope your part of Texas has found some relief. I just got off the phone with Ramon, and he said it rained there in Houston again today. He's back home on Friday. Take care, my sweet, and have a good night!!!

Love the Wedgwood Windsor; I'm about ready to pick up a set of Wedgwood Queens Plain. The matelasse and the wool chalis create a wonderful contrast for your table, and the flowers are magnificent. Walking flowers...what a great reason for a beautiful tablescape! Cherry Kay

Set. Throw. Drape. Plop.
And that's the final result? That is simply stunning to me. The huge centerpiece contrasted with the small one of roses was fantastic. I am going to remember that the next time I want a tall centerpiece.

Yours in gorgeous.
The whole table is lovely.

Gorgeous table, Marlis! A girl has to do, what a girl has to do! You make it look easy, even though even us, occasional tablescapers know how much work it is. You know, your transferware is showing again . . . I love it! And I'm with you, butter is good for the soul . . .

Marlis, this is really a beautiful table. The flowers are stunning actually. Love the transferware and I need a soup tureen like that badly. My kids eat oatmeal a ton and I should start it it would drop my cholestrol 40 points. Joni
