July QuicKutz Club project

Welcome! I'm so glad that you are here. It's that time again, time to come to club and have a bit of fun. As promised this time it's quite an easy page. On that note...how are you coming with filling your album so far? I myself am missing about 3 months, oops I was doing so well too. Oh well, I'll catch up as you will too. Although I used a metal plaque in the upper corner, should you not have this - I have a nice piece that will fit into that space perfectly! It's a club die.. I know you'll love it. Be sure to pick yours up before club as you probably want to use your die!

I know, I know, I'm missing one brad in the center. Oh but that is on purpose, it's easier to see that there really is a flower behind the brads if I left it blank. Isn't that bottom piece fun... It came that way, but you can easily make one of your own.. The butterflies are all cut out of a designer paper and popped up with foam pop dots! Same for the birds.

Supplies:
Melody Ross for GCD designer papers as shown
black brush pen
foam pop dots
black ink
3 Melody Ross brads
Basic scrapbooking supplies

QuicKutz dies:
flower KS-922
leaves KS-917
Cookie cutter 3 dimensional pop up flower die set

June QK Club project - club date has changed!! June 12th now.

It's the rick-rack season! QuicKutz came out with a new 6" die set consisting of zigzag outlines, circles and zigzag edged circles. I fell in love with this set when I spotted it hanging on the shelf in the store Love it. Can you spell L O V E??
So I paired with with rick-rack and voila! a pretty cool combo if I say so myself. We are going to lean to make some NO SEW rick-rack flowers. Why do I emphasize the no-sew??? Because traditionally these are made with a needle and thread. But I figured out how to make them without those two little tools.. wooo hooo.

Supplies:
Designer Paper as shown (My Mind's Eye)
1 yd mini green rick-rack
1 yd blue rick-rack
1 yd pink rick-rack
1" circle punch
1/2" circle punch
Tweezers
2 straight pins
Baby Blue Liquid Pearls
Color box cats eye ink pads: robins egg, lime pastel and olive
4 mini brads and brad setting tools
1/4" Terrifically Tacky tape (this is a must this time!!)
Glue dots
Adhesive of choice
removable tape

QuicKutz dies:
Nesting rick rack circles
popup leaves

See you June 12th, 10am!

Hey there is a giveaway going on till the 11th - you need to leave a post on this blog post - click here! It's a lovely hand embroidery book... I'll be drawing on Friday!

Enabler alert - February QuicKutz club...

I was going to stay away from Valentine's paper. I was going to stay away from sweet. I was going to stay away from hearts. I was. But then I saw the cute new paper. And I found some lace. And some black and beige mini check ribbon. And some Maya Road clear journaling 'cards'. I was going to stay away from Valentine's paper. But that didn't happen!

And there are hearts, but those are surprise.. But he page isn't a Valentine page!!! However, enabler alert.. run to the store and pick up the paper you see above.. I know it's in the store now.

January QuicKutz teaser!

It's the theme for the year. It's the cover page for your 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" We R Memory Keepers album. The reason I'm sharing this now.. well we needed a cover for the album and that wasn't planned at our last meeting in December. So to give yourself a head start, you'll need:

brown decorative paper (if you picked up the brown/blue paper combo - you can get the cover from the brown sheet if you cut carefully)
paper in a color to match your album cover
ribbon in a color to match your album cover
Stick on pearls - these are two toned but there are several varieties available at DML now.

The January pages are done! But wont' be posting those until the Wednesday before January club.

QuicKutz club December - it's looking a lot like Christmas

It's time for QuicKutz club. The last meeting of the year. It sure has been fun to create these different pages each month. How are your albums coming along? I am planning on putting some pictures in the last half of the year :(. I'm ending up with two rather simple pages, we are all busy enough and I don't want to add one more UFO (unfinished object) to the pile!!
The next page is optional. It's made from a page protector. A bit of sewing, a few inserts, some glitter and a glitter globe and the page is finished..

Supplies!
3 pieces assorted Christmas paper (coordinating)
1 piece green embossed with holly leaves cardstock
1 piece white paper
1 ft-1/4" black beige check ribbon
1 yd-1/8" brown satin ribbon
QK: mini accordian album round die
Small snowflake die
Deep edge MS punch - lacy scallop
brown cat's eye ink pad
inverted scallop MS corner and edge punch
MS pine bough punch

Why are there no pecans? and QK Nov club teaser

Could this be the reason I have no pecans this year? How can one cute little thing clean out 4 huge trees? I don't think so, maybe it was the frost. No other pecan tree in the neighborhood is fruit laden this year either. mmmm.
Here's a preview of the papers for QK November club all from Basic Grey Indian Summer Collecction:
autumn glaze
apple butter
maize
cordovan
acorn
maple sugar
brown doily

I'll add a bit of brown to this mix - using a bit left over from last month's pumpkin pages!

Creative Paper Concepts October QK CLub

Welcome to the October edition of Quickutz Club. This month you'll have the option of making either of the two layouts. Because of time constraints, the complexity of the project and because we all want a bit of lunch - unfortunatelyI'll have to limit you to making one project in class.

The first layout - Halloween inspired: Halloween inspired brad, orange trick or treat ribbon, orange/black check ribbon, boo ribbon, QK Haunted alphabet, QK 2x2 ghost die, QK scallop cookie cutter die set, JustRite stampers Witch Way to the Treats stamp set with appropriate stamper, black cat's eye ink pad for edgings, spider web paper for front, orange flocked dot paper for back, gooey drips green paper for both sides,
Front......

Back.......
The second layout - Fall Festival inspired: fall leaf brads brown/beige check ribbon, orange/brown mini plaid ribbon, QK Oval cookie cutter dies, QK 4x4 scarecrow die, scallop border punch, JustRite Autumn Blessings oval stamp set with appropriate stamper, one brown leaf embossed paper for front, one pumpkin row paper for back, one coordinating paper with strips of coordinating paper, 1 sheet green coordinating dot paper, one piece of yellow-ish paper for scarecrow, chestnut roan cat's eye ink pad for edgings, colored pencils to color in the stamped image.

October QK club teaser..

I've actually finished both project for October's QuicKutz club! So I can make you squirm with a few teaser shots. During club, you can make one of your choice - either fall or halloween. IF you finish the first one or get far enough along, you are welcome to start the second page sould you desire. I just don't think you can finish two pieces during our time together.
The page has two sides and a full sheet of paper was used for each side. So sharing background paper probably won't work. The fall page used the Little Yellow Bicycle Pumpkin Patch on one side and the Imaginations signature collection brown leather looking embossed with fall leaves on the other. I augmented with a strip from the Little Yellow Bicycle Autumn Binge strip and a dk green dot. You will want to bring some coordinating ribbon and I added the metal leaf brads that are at DML! I also used the Autumn Blessings oval stamps and stamper from JustRite!
The Halloween layout turned out so 'happy'! Backgrounds are Imaginations Signature Collection Spiderwebs and the orange flocked polka dot for the other. Augment with green gooey drops and your pages will be complete.
I added the orange trick or treat ribbon from DML, a boo ribbon from the "resource center" (aka stash) and some of the cute halloween brads in stock at DML. Also used the Treats stamp Set (Halloween) from JustRite Stampers. Just fyi - this is a limited edition set and is already sold out with JustRite - so get yours while it's available!

See you October 17th, 10am at DML!

There is an insert to the folder which holds additional photos and journaling. Titles are up to you, but I would strongly suggest using the new QK harvest font. It's scrumptious!

2" circle punch
Chestnut Roan Colorbox cat's eye ink pad
Frayed Burlap Distress Ink
