Mikasa Daylight Easter Tablescape and a giveaway!

After Mikasa Daylight arrived (Oh yes, I was so blessed to have won this lovely set of Mikasa china on Alycia's Tablescapes at Table Twenty-One blog) I knew what would be on my Easter table. Other than the tulips, I had everything already! I know, unbelievable.

The backdrop: a yellow tablecloth, the Daylight charger plate and a yellow linen napkin.

The Daylight dinner plate. I love the leaf branch on the left side. The greens are perfect shades to be used from how through the fall!

I chose to  use the soup bowl today with it's leaf branch on the right side. The salad plate has a branch straight up down the center.

As a base for the Easter decor, I chose to use the beautiful green saucer.

Plopped some Easter grass (dyed wood shavings) onto the plate.

And then topped it with an everlasting foil covered egg and some Dove chocolates.

Here is the complete placesetting of Mikasa Daylight. I love the curvature of the ample soup/pasta bowl. The cup's shape reminds me of a blossom sitting atop the green saucer!

Simple Sterling flatware is the perfect accessory for the boldness in the dishes.

Clear crystal, a Mikasa Parklane water glass and a clear stem are used for drinks. Classic white vases hold bunches of fresh tulips.

In a few days they will have opened to perfection. It's always best to purchase flowers a few days earlier than dinner. Not always what happens, but a good thing to do.

Mr. and Mrs. Hare are getting ready to so some spring planting. The look just like foil covered chocolate bunnies. Set on a Mikasa plateau, adorned with more Easter wood shavings, a couple of smaller bunnies and some more eggs.  For today's table, the coordinating green ribbons were run through the reticulated edge of the plateau.

Cherry Kay from Entertaining Women shared with us how perfect it is to have decanters on the table so that guests can refill their glasses without a bit of bother.

A green votive holder holds a candle, for even at lunch, candlelight is enchanting and adds ambiance to a table.

Do you see the cute angle at the tip of these silver dessert forks?

Frolicking bunny salt and peppers, I couldn't resist!

I moved the saucers with the eggs to the side so that you could see just how lovely the table looks with the dishes themselves.

Thank you Mikasa, I am thoroughly enjoying the Daylight china. It's been a welcome addition to our tables. From the husband: tell them thanks for making it dishwasher safe! I 'heart'
my new dishes!!! Thank you Mikasa, for being so gracious in their giveaways, for so many chances to win and for allowing me to host a giveaway on this blog. It's Monday, so that means the winner of the Mikasa china is....

Daylight
A fresh, sophisticated addition to your table, Daylight brings the vibrancy of nature into your home. A wide array of distinctly designed porcelain accessories are adorned with lush leaves in a variety of rich, green hues. Perfect for casual and formal entertaining alike. Made of fine porcelain from Portugal. Dishwasher and microwave safe.

This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do! Choose a winner that is. I do want to thank Mikasa for their abundant generosity, for allowing me to host a giveaway and for being an integral part of this tablescaper's life!

First, from Mikasa, the final count on the votes on FB:

Daylight: 56 votes
Antique Orchard : 50 votes
Sketch Floral: 50 votes

Looks like a wonderful set of 6 placesettings of the fabulous Daylight pattern is going to a new home.

Then,  I waded through all the lovely comments AND followers AND Facebook comments for those that loved the Daylight pattern. Remember, if you left a comment, voted and followed you were in the drawing!

Since I couldn't actually get Random.org to keep up with all this, I put all names in a jar and had a colleague draw a name.

Drum roll please...........

Have you ever won anything Bill?
Did you vote for Daylight?
Are you a follower?
I think now you have two sets of Mikasa dishes!

Yes it's you - Bill at Affordable Accoutrements!

Can you email me/message me your address, phone number, etc; so I can pass it along to Mikasa please?

Drawing will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2011. Come back and see what I did with my set of Daylight and comment that day for this giveaway!
