Blue and white inspiration
From: The
Style Sisters
Lately, I’ve been horribly smitten with blue and white
tables. I am thinking the influence is coming from blogs, pinterest,
magazines.. etc.
And I do not have but
one set of blue dishes. No solids to go with them, nope, nada. So
before I go off into the wild blue yonder…

I did a bit of looking, in my files. And I’m going to share some of my finds with
you today!

I love the table.. and the ginger jar vases. The dishes are
not even blue.. but you don’t notice that until you take a really close look.
Maybe I should just find some blue things? Notice the sweet silver salt and
peppers? I even see spot a cute salt cellar above the forks. The draping tulips
just make me happy.

Yvonne always stacks her dishes so well. Oh wait, I do have
those blue and white calico plates, right above the larger white plate with the
gorgeous edges. Notice too that each blue plate or accessory has a different
pattern. So interesting and fabulous to look at.

A very crisp white tablecloth with small motifs is a
wonderful backdrop to the china.. Note the blue berries on the napkin ring. The dinner plate is clear which lets the salad
plate just float above the table.. intriguing.

I love all the white. And just the touches of blue on this
table. Especially the blue flowers in the white vases.

Dark blue tablecloth, white flatware. I do have blue
flatware. Once again tulips.

Some inspiration for next winter.. dusted pinecones in a
blue wash bowl. I love this. I do love this a lot!
Of course Cherry Kay has blue and white. And stunning blue
and white it is. I have that flatware, so there is a start. The toile linen provides a perfect backdrop
for the dishes.
This was a very early tablescape from the Susan. Actually, the second tablescape one!! The placemats
are just fabulous. Love those chunky candles in what appear to be flow blue
candlesticks.

What is not to love? The gorgeous blue and white plate, the
twig flatware, the napkin and just look at the rim on the white plate. I think
this would be heavenly on a Tattersall tablecloth.

at Table 21 Just one of the few with which Alycia has bedazzled us. Gotta love
those rice bowls. And once again, ginger jars.
Next week, I think I’ll try my hand at just blue and white.
I certainly have enough inspiration. I know I can visit so many of you and pull
from your inspiring tables, too. It shall be a complete surprise to you and to
me, to see what I can pull together. Maybe, just maybe I can persuade my dad he
doesn’t need Mom’s china??? LOL

Blue and white is so timeless! Lots of beautiful inspiration from your files~ I always love Yvonne's dish layers and Cherry Kay has the most beautiful dishes and linens in her arsenal :)
ReplyDeleteBlue and white....my go to color combo again and again. I'm about ready to dive back into b & w, too. What is the blue and white pattern that your daddy has? Send me an email with your address, please. Thanks for the mention and the stroll through so many gorgeous blue and white tables. Makes me happy. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteMarlis,
ReplyDeleteWow!!!
What inspirational blue & white tablescapes!!! Of course, I adore the contrast with the yellow you added and the pink from Yvonne's @ StoneGable!!!
I'll be watching for an upcoming blue & white tablescape in the future, dear friend!!! I'm in the mood for blue, too!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Blue and white is always fresh and beautiful. Each one of your examples proves that! You featured some of the best of the tablescapers. I always envy Yvonne's pretty stacks of dishes. Great post, Marlis. You are inspiring me to pull out my blue dishes.
ReplyDeleteWhat glorious inspiration! And you've introduced me to a couple of new tablescapers, too! Blue and white has got to be one of the most delightful color combos ever!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, thanks for visiting the new blog. I just realized I hadn't put you in my new blog list, but you're there now! Whew! I love that Nordic image, and your settings under the tree. I have blue and ivory china and I've always loved it. Classic, classic!!
ReplyDeleteMarlis - I so so love blue and white! Before I added granite to my kitchen, all of the accessories were blue and white. I have been looking for the perfect solid blue plates for years and last week-end, I finally bought some (not so perfect) at Old Time Pottery. I guess blue is a difficult color to produce for some reason. So enjoyed all of the photos. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBlue and white is my very favorite combination! Thanks for including my tablescape along with all the other beautiful ones in blue and white!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the shout out! You got me to thinking...so I looked in my catalog, and I don't have nearly as many blue dishes as I thought. Most of the blue in my stash is in the form of vases and such. You are going to have F-U-N shopping for something new. There are so many fabulous classic and contemporary designs out there just waiting to be adopted by you!!! I can't wait to be wowed by what you decide on!
ReplyDeleteI love the table with the white tulips...so fresh and springy as we prepare for a winter "event" in the next 24 hours. I also love blue, white and yellow used together. You show us quite a variety here!
ReplyDeleteOOH, This is heaven right here...looking at all the gorgeous blue and white tablescapes! It's my favorite! I'm about to do a "Homeschool Mom's Breakfast" in blue white and yellow...I just LOVE it! Thanks for posting all this great eye candy!!! =D
ReplyDeleteI have done a few with blue and white this year...still have a few more to do, too! They are so refreshing to look at.
ReplyDeleteAll those tables sure provide great inspiration, Marlis! I know you'll come up with something stunning. I look forward to seeing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteOh I just love all those blue and whites, Marlis. You are inspiring me into creating a table with my blue and white plates. I will have to dig them out from storage soon, lol....Christine
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post very much. Blue and white always catches my eye!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of inspirations and creations! The blue and white is one of my favorites, ironically I have very little blue. This may just be my the inspiration I need!! Good post!
ReplyDeleteMarlis, your blue and white have inspired me. Plus I was on the other side of town the other day and picked up blue stemware at Dollar Tree. I had never been before, definitely will be checking in again. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBlue and white is gorgeous and I have my onion pattern china to take me into it..but, like you, NADA in blue glass-ware! I need to look for that. I'm also looking around for B&W transfer ware. Thank you lovely lady for the compliment and feature of my English bowl, I love that vintage piece too and got it at a good price two years ago. You can start with Hutschenreuther! Big hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Oh, I loved all the gorgeous table settings you shared from our friends..wow, there is so much inspiration here for sure!!
ReplyDeleteFabby
Well, aren't you clever! Some wonderful tables here. Isn't it funny how something will just grab you and you gotta have it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tables! There is something about blue & white, isn't there? I find I'm always attracted to it as well. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and white...and the blue and yellow! Thanks for inspiring me to do something with my blue and white dishes that don't get used as often as some of the others.

I enjoyed all the lovely blue & white tables so much, there is something magically elegant about them. I don't have ANYTHING blue, but I did buy several Italian plates with lemons and large blue plums so I am venturing out in that direction...also found some fab blue placemats on sale at Pier 1, so something will eventually develop! Have fun with your tablescape!
ReplyDeleteJenna
I was recently given some of those blue calico dishes and I'm in love with them. I'm hoping to be able to put together my very own blue and white table. I can't wait to see your table next week!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping you'll double team with Cherry Kay again. Together, you guys are dangerous!
Hi Marlis! I'm a big fan of blue and white, too! Now that I think of it, I don't think I've posted a blue and white table! Gasp! Something else to add to my to do list! Blessings, Tammy
