Happy Spring! Have you been looking forward to spring, too? Although we've already had wonderful days, I know that our Easter freeze can't be too far away. So for now, I'll be celebrating a new season.
It was quite a dilemma this week... gingham napkin with white ring, or the Ralph Lauren napkins I used for St. Patrick's with the same green rings... Your thoughts?
Last week, Bordallo chargers, Wedgwood dinner plates, and clear glass salads. The Ralph Lauren napkin with the glass napkin ring. Silver flatware.
The Bordallo charger plates make really great dinner plates! Seriously. They are just a smidgen larger than a regular dinner plate and I find myself using them more than the Bordallo dinner plates! I added a pretty reticulated salad plate with figs and blueberries. Once again, the Dollar Tree glasses. They sure get a workout around here.
I added a "nest" charger from World Market and the dark bamboo flatware.
I also used the same white placemats. It's really pretty easy to change up dinner from week to week with just a few changes.
Instead of shamrocks/oxalis (which I did find just in time for our St. Pat's dinner Sunday evening), I planted a bunch of fabulous fauxs in the wooden box.
Why fauxs? Let's see, Thursday evening we will be celebrating our sweet Zoe's 6th birthday, and around here.. it's way toooo late in the year to find bulbs in bloom. My planted daffodils are starting to wither already.
I really wanted to pick up some of the "nest" chargers from Pottery Barn, but I found these at World Market instead. No need for shipping! And I do like them with the bamboo flatware.
It's hard to believe that the Easter Bunny will be making his appearance in little over a week. I'm hoping for a nice warm day so that the house full, we are gathering here this year, can move straight out to the patio!
I've always loved these plates. I use them for both salads and desserts. From Spring through Summer.
Thanks for dropping in.. I hope you had fun seeing a quick transformation from St. Pat's to a table to herald the awakening of Spring!

I love your Easter post. The dishes are really pretty and make you think of Easter and Spring. I also like the center piece looks great on the table.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Mary
Marlis, that overhead shot is just stunning! Have I asked you before how you do that? Hanging by your knees from the chandelier, perhaps? I love both the gingham and the paisley napkins -- maybe alternate them? I have told my husband I "need" a rustic box like yours. Stay tuned to see if he follows through!
ReplyDeleteMarlis, this is such a pretty setting. Either way that you style it, it still works! Love the freshness of the green; and your centerpiece is amazing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring table setting, Marlis, it's so you, a wonderful and charming style. I love that long centerpiece box with such beautiful flowers and the dishes, SWOON!!! Your linen is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
FABBY
Beautiful as always, Marlis. I like your rustic centerpiece and you plates are gorgeous....Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table and gorgeous dishes!!! I love it all. The cabbage plates/chargers are so beautiful. Wish I had some. Have a beautiful week. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteHey, Marlis! I think the Dollar Tree goblets get a real workout at everyone's house who has them! They are one of the best bargains around and they go with practically everything! I use the green ones WAY more than the blue! This is a beautiful representation of Spring! The combination of the rustic with the fabulous floral couldn't say it any better. I really, really like the centerpiece, too. I think it's the combination of all the different blooms that makes it stand out. You can use that just about anywhere in the house! I like the napkins you chose with this one more than the gingham. They're flowy (is that even a word?!!) like the florals on the plates and in the centerpiece whereas the gingham is more "orderly." Beautiful job...as always! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat spring tablescape. Easter and St Pat's are so close together this year but you did both of them well. Your centerpiece is so striking and I love all your dishes. Such gorgeous linen placemats too. I enjoy learning more about tablescaping as I read your posts.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Marlis! I love your centerpiece! It really shouts spring.

Marlis,
ReplyDeletejust beautiful...that centerpiece is amazing.....really wonderful...I love that you use your Dollar Tree fine crystal... :-) me too...need to go check them out again soon...
Love, Mona
Gosh Marlis, I love those plates, too. They would make food taste better just by looking at them! I actually like the RL napkins the best with the dishes. Of course, your centerpiece is always my fave!!
ReplyDeleteOh so springy! Love your fabulous faux blooms planted in your wonderful box! I keep hoping to run across some BP chargers :) Wishing you a sunny Easter day!
ReplyDeleteAll those soft, muted tones of greens are so very inviting, Marlis. Lots of texture, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy over your wooden box planter....and those plates...and the Bordallo charger plates LOL
Enjoy your Spring...my daffs are just barely sticking their noses up out of the dirt. It will be a month yet before we see any.
Fabulous, Marlis. The dishes and the long wooden planter down the middle. Just beautiful. Makes me want to be invited to dinner for sure. xo
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Marlis and oh my, be still my heart, that salad plate! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI'm so relieved that those flowers are faux. Now there's hope that I can have some gorgeous garden cut flowers like that. Anita and you get so much mileage out of those amazing primative boxes. I need a box! And the Brunelli plates are a modern treasure...they are gorgeous! We're going from Spring days into a possible final snow/ice storm...weather as usual. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to usher spring in...I love the salad/dessert plates. Your centerpiece is so pretty, can't wait until spring really arrives and the flowers start blossoming.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like both napkins, but I have a real soft spot for gingham.
Love those salad plates and the RL napkins! Beautiful setting, especially that centerpiece!
ReplyDeleteAll of these elements are gorgeous, and I would not be able to decide which napkin either. The small plates are lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove that box centerpiece Marlis, at first glance I thought your flowers were real! Beautiful Spring table, and I like your chargers better than the PB ones!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Marlis:
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Love the box and the fig plates. all of it together is just magnificent.
- The Tablescaper
I love the planter of Spring running down the center of your table. What a happy table you created!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, That center piece really caught my eye. The rustic box with the fragile flowers is a perfect match. I think I like the Lauren napkins the best with this table setting. Softer I guess, but gingham isn't really harsh or bright, but for me the paisley! I love those salad plates too. You must have been handing from the chandelier for one of the shots! Dianne
ReplyDeleteMarlis, this is such a beautiful spring table. The centerpiece is amazing and I am thinking of something very similar for my spring dinner party. I think I will do faux after seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteLovely table Marlis but I would go with Ralph!!! Looks a little classier than the gingham.
ReplyDeleteSuzyq
Marlis, your table is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis! I'm loving all the green. Glad you chose the RL napkin. The salad plates are so pretty too. The white placemat makes it all nice and crisp. So pretty. Isn't it funny how we so often get an Easter snow? I hope it happens this year!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, Beautiful as always. I love the planter and I can't believe they are faux?!!?! Also - big fan of gingham, but the RL napkins are stunning. Have a blessed day and happy spring! ~ Holly
ReplyDeleteMarlis this is just gorgeous! I love those plates and would use them all the time!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
Marlis, I love both your tablescapes and both work for St. Patrick’s Day and Spring/Easter. I’ve always loved gingham and think of it for spring. I love your RL napkins and think they are a little dressier. Great chargers with both. Gorgeous Wedgwood dinner plates. The centerpiece is awesome. I first looked and thought you’d been to the garden center for bulbs in pots to sit in your planter. If you hadn’t told I would never have guessed faux!!!! Beautiful tablescape. We’ve had some beautiful days and everything is popping out. If you can believe this we have sleet and snow in the weekend forecast.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.....
Hugs,
Emily
The French Hutch
Beautiful, the centerpiece is wonderful! I agree, I never would have known they were faux.
ReplyDeleteBoth napkins look good!
Still so cold here, not a hint of Spring. Snow tonight!
Thanks for linking to Let's Dish, always a treat to visit here!
Marlis, that box, filled with flowers, is breath taking. Now that shouts Spring. Love those salad plates, and I've also wanted some of those nest chargers. Yours from WM are pretty too. I may have to check into those. laurie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table and I love the box with flowers....I LUV pretty fauxs when we can't find the real thing when we want it.
ReplyDeleteWeather like today is why we don't look forward to spring in West Texas...ugggg
This is such a pretty spring table, Marlis! Your planter box filled with blooms (faux or not) makes me long for warmer weather!!!
ReplyDeleteStunning table and I love your centerpiece. Can I copy cat it please???
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
I just love the table and the box with all the wonderful flowers, I sure could think of so many tablescapes I could use that for, so fun to create with, love the dishes with those great soft green napkins..
ReplyDeleteI like the paisley napkins better, but then again, I'm in love with those napkins. I think the color is a slightly better match for the dinner plates. I like the asymmetrical aerial shot of the table. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi, Pinterest friend! (Have you noticed how often we're "on" at the same time/pinning the same things?!) Your table is lovely. The floral plates are gorgeous, and any time I see a table with the "cabbage" plates I'm in love. I love gingham, but my vote is for the paisley this time...Oh, and you dare dream of Easter outside--lucky you! Here in Ohio we're still in a deep winter...even snow flurries today. Easter finery with winter coats will be the dress around here! I hope your wish comes true. ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteMarlis, this is a gorgeous table setting. I'd never know the blooms are faux. My bulbs are all bloomed out too, so I ended up buying some cute daffodils and other spring blooms for my luncheon table last Tuesday. They don't last long. Most need to be tossed out today. I love the look of the Bordallo chargers. I have a set of those as well that just may make an appearance for our Easter table. The Italian salad/dessert plates are exquisite. Love the reticulated edge and the figs and blueberries. I like the RL napkins best, but the gingham definitely says spring to me. '-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this lovely table. You're all set!
Happy Easter ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful setting..the center piece just amazing...A beautiful creation...:):)
Marlis - I love your flower box centerpiece and both of your plates are so pretty. I always enjoy seeing your new tables!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, I love every thing about this table. Great chargers, I just used some pink recently, and your Spring plates look stunning on the chargers. Also the box down the center is great with the Spring flowers. You got this one just right!
