Rustic chic Tablescape

I always love me some rustic! Burlap, more rough textures in the napkin rings, an antique dough board, white pitcher.. yep that is just my bag!

It's all this napkin ring's fault.. yessirree! 
I just loved the rough texture of the fabric, 
the wrap of the center and the corded edge - don't you?
See how high the center is?

This is what came about, do you like it?

I stuffed some succulents (the ones still alive), some lichen covered balls, dried Spanish moss, faux moss-covered stones, pines cones (is it too early?) and some twigs to the dough board.

I even placed some dried moss around the base of the candle before I stuffed it into the barley twist candleholder.

Yep, the white chargers are back - again! But they are so perfect in contrast to the burlap or the brown wood of the table.



The fish dinner plate was chosen mainly for the lovely brown transferware trim.

A simple white salad plate sits atop the dinner plate.

Doesn't this look inviting?

This pitcher gets a good work-out around here.. I use it all the time!

    Your rustic table is gorgeous! I love the contrast of the dark brown napkin on your light "stack" and with the napkin ring. They are sweet. I wonder how hard it would be to make those? Beautiful centerpiece too! Awesome job!

    How pretty this is. Love thsoe wonderful napkin rings! This all goes together so well. (Love your chargers....I finally found some at our Pier One last Friday and of course used them this week!)

    I really love this one! I love the way you use the rustic colors and textures, but it still looks elegant.
    That place setting is just perfect, and the napkin ring is definitely the star of the show!

    Lovely! Rustic has to have pine cones...they are out all year round in nature, why not on your table, dear??? Perfect in the blend of Chic...those napkin rings are adorable...and rustic! I enjoyed the amber hue of your stemware to the blend, also!

    I do love your inspiration point. Those napkin rings are very cool! Your white chargers certainly are versatile; they look great however you use them, as does the pretty pitcher.

    Your post title is right on. This is a beautifully rustic yet totally chic tablescape. Love it!

    I thought I was in love with your last table, but, oh, my! I really, really love this one! That dough board is fantastic, and the napkin rings have create an appealing tension between rustic and whimsical. I also liked your use of gold-colored goblets for a bit more punch of color. So beautiful!

    That huge gorgeous napkin ring is stupendous! I can't get over it!! What a beautiful rustic table you set. I love the contrast of the classic whites with the burlap. Your lighting is so pretty too for indoor shots. It is always fun to see your tables!

    I always look forward to your tablescapes, and this one meets the high standard that you set each week. I love the amber goblet; I never think to go to Steinmart.     Loved your table, the napkin rings are soo soo cute, goes great with your charger and picher and the center piece is to die for and pinecones nevr never too early I have a crush on them, I have painted them in gold, silver, copper, and for x-mas green and red with sparkles and its allaround my house.

    Sooo rustic & yet classy, too! Wonderful combinations, Marlis & I can see why you fell in love with the napkin rings...they're just delightful!
    I'm coveting your dough board badly. I always wanted one for my big wooden table in the sunroom. Must go on the hunt.
