Love, Love, Love 3 day weekends! Memorial Day: the kids are out of school, the weather is playing along nicely, and while we reflect on the men and women who have served this country, let's celebrate with a barbeque Texas style!
Collectors bandanas serve as napkins for the ends of the table and bandanas make do for the rest!
Love these red ones with Lubbock on them! This one is my favorite, hearts, red and Lubbock.
Rust colored metal napkin rings, a checked waffle-weave tablecloth, blue calico dinner plates, white salad plates, blue flatware, blue glassware all create a festive setting without breaking the bank!
Doll-ah water glasses and estate sale perfect blue goblets ensure we won't be parched.
A rust colored metal candlelabra is the centerpiece. Both ends sport votive holders. The center is a red bowl with clippings from the yard surrounding a pillar candle.
There are no markings on this pitcher. It 'came' with our cabin in New Mexico, so I think it might be purchased in NM. Anyone recognize the potter?

ReplyDeleteLove your great Red, white and blue barbecue table outside. Love the napkins and all the great layering...
Red, White & Blue....rustic....and bbq is a winning combination! Looks delightful.
ReplyDeleteI studied in texas from 1990-1993 (from the far North), you have made me very nostalgic. Love this!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just love absolutely everything! The bandanna's are just the cutest things with the hearts. Love your glasses. I'm sure you had a wonderful Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteLove your Texas barbque! I used calico plates in my Memorial Day tablescape as well, but they look entirely different in your tablescape. Love it!

Marlis, I just love this table setting...from the checkered tablecloth to the bandana napkins! Perfect for cooking out and celebrating a special holiday like Memorial Day. Hope you're having a fabulous summer, friend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great table! The blue calico dishes look fantastic against the checkered cloth. Bandanas set everything off!! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteThis would make a great pre-party the night of your all's Cattle Baron's Ball. Really like the candelabra used as the centerpiece. I use bandanas as napkins frequently, but I don't have any as cool as the Lubbock ones. I'll have to get my sister on that project. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteYour table looks great Marlis! Love the blue plates and the bandannas are so fun:@)
ReplyDeleteLove all of the red, white and blue. And what a great idea using bandana's as napkins!
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
Love your all American Texas theme! It would be fun to have dinner at this red white and blue table.
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful table!! It looks very patriotic, but it also says BARBEQUE loud and clear. The bandanas are such a great idea for napkins and the napkin rings are terrific. The texture of your red and white checked cloth looks so soft and cozy. I especially like the metal candelabra with the horse shoe in the center -- just perfect for a Texas barbeque!
