Breaking the fast Tablescape

I am so sorry. Really I am. I didn't mean it. It's all my fault. It started yesterday.
The missus came home and one vase was on it's side and the white tablecloth was wet. She muttered something about cats and liners. I think she meant that she was glad she had the liner under the table. I have no clue what she said about cats. It was all a bit strange. See those silver birds on the clustered vases? Did you know that they move? Yes, they do and I think maybe I get a bit carried away. I'm sorry.

So the missus stripped off the white table cloth and this one which happened to be lying on the table too. I think she was auditioning. Just how much water do you think those vases can hold? Well, trust me, about half a tablecloth's worth.

So they both dried over night. One on the ironing board and one on the guest bed. Can you believe she closed the door??? No need to banish me. It was just water!!!

So we got over yesterday. And then there was today. It's Saturday, she's not supposed to go anywhere and she knows it. But she did. She left early too. And then came back. Oh boy, I thought, she's home to entertain me. I have her all to myself. What was I thinking? Next thing I know, she's changing into jeans and grabs her purse and leaves. She left me again. This is just so wrong. You know what I mean?

So you know the old saying... while the missus is away the cats will play. She had gotten up really early this morning, filled out some paper work (which she promptly left here) and wrote a letter. Too busy to give me any attention. And she set this table, minus glasses. I don't know why she wouldn't put those out. I'm just saying....

So then she comes home and I thought she would be soo glad to see me. All she did was let out a howl and said more things about cats. I got my feelings hurt. Did you  know she speaks about 4 languages? Well she does.. and cat sounds almost the same in every one of them!

What's a little water? I think she was upset because the vase was lying down. Not the same one! I was careful not to touch that one. Yesterday was bad enough. No, I selected a different one, but I guess that was wrong too.

So all was well for a while. But I guess I upset her. Her friend came over and they had such a nice chat. I sidled up to the missus and she was my best friend again. Nose kisses and back rubs, all was well in the world...

Aren't these yellow Kalanchoe cousins cute on the table. I thought they weren't potted correctly. I was just trying to help. The Spanish moss she used to cover up the dirt was intriguing. So feathery and wispy, just what I like!

I prefer real dirt, don't you?

Who could be mad at this cute face with those piercing blue eyes?

So, did you notice something??? I got blamed for no glasses. How is that my fault? Really? What do you think?
Sincerely,
Regan

  4. The table is beautiful, Marlis! I love the unexpected surprise of the daisies and the yellow of the kalanchoe is lush. I think Reagan is a remarkable kitty to contain himself from playing with the tassels on the chairbacks. And he really is so sweet....how can you resist those blue eyes?

    Thanks for another lovely table.

  14. What a delightful table. I love the blue and yellow, and the tablecloth is gorgeous. love it. and what a dynamite idea to put the lil vases together like that with a bow. I have some small almond bottles that I saved to be able to put a flower at each place, but they are not stable enough so I only use them somewhere they want be disturbed cause I think they could fall over very easily, but that would solve my problem. You did an awesome job on the table,
    love it,
    Blessings, Nellie

  15. HAHAHA! I loved the story so much that I had to go back and see the table a second time to notice the absent glasses. This was priceless!

Plus, the table was just lovely, with or without glasses. I love a blue and yellow table. I think it's my very favorite color combination.

    And I love that tablecloth!

    Just beautiful.

  16. Awwwwww, Regan.... don't take it so hard. We know you didn't do it. She does, too (though she won't admit it because humans are like that, you know)! ;-)

Love this table, Marlis! The white daisies added the perfect touch to make it fresh and pretty, and I loved all the blue and white china and the pretty soups in the creamy yellow color. Perfect to chase away the winter blues. I didn't even notice the glasses were missing I was so busy looking at all the other pretties. That china really spoke to me!

Speaking of china and such, I'm having a china giveaway, and I'd love for you to enter. I'm giving some extra chances because I wanted the girls on this meme to have a shot at it, and then dummy here forgets to say "giveaway" when I loaded my thing. LOL!

Happy Tablescape Thursday to you and Regan...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  17. I swear I'm going to sign you up for "Saturday Night Live"!!! You are SO funny!!! Poor cat...just trying to have a little fun. Ok...has the cat left the room? Now I can tell you what I REALLY think: Kitty is lucky to not be banished to the storage room for a month!!! You did a marvelous job of recouping after all the mayhem! Beautiful table, and I LOVE the layers on your place setting! I have wanted so desperately to buy those gorgeous dark blue with white flower dinner plates, but I just haven't been able to justify it to myself. Help me!!! The way you have them here is fabulous!!! Thanks for stopping by earlier, and I'll talk to you soon! Hugs!
