You cannot imagine my delight when I got an email from Noritake a few weeks ago. It said I had won the Noritake Piedmont Platinum Accent Plates. Wow. Oh yay!! Can you spell excited??!!!
I just knew they would work so well with many of my dishes. I had planned to deck the table with my these pale blue accent plates and my wedding china, but I think I'll save that for another day. Isn't the square shape wonderful. That's platinum on that plate!!
For our Sunday dinner with my 97 year old dad, I pulled out the pale blue Williams Sonoma linen tablecloth and as much crystal as I dared put on the table.
Including crystal knife rests from the mister's grandmother.
Mikasa Parklane water goblets, Libbey Rock Sharpe wine goblets and unknown Champagne flutes.
White flowers always pop on a pale cloth. Simply mini-mums keep the table from looking too formal.
The guys already cringe at white napkins!
Wedgwood Windsor dinner plates and Old Company Plate's Signature silver complete the look.
The silver Gorham Chantilly candlesticks are hard workers around here.
How do you keep your white napkins clean? I place mine in an oxyclean bath directly after dinner.
Let them soak a while. It will not hurt.
Whereas bleach weakens the fibers. Always.
I'm still collecting silver trays. Can you ever have too many?
I love how many different edges are available. It's so hard to pick a favorite.
Do mums make you smile? Oh gosh, these last so long and bring so much joy.
I hope you had a pleasant visit. I'd love to have you grace our table!
Thank you Noritake for the wonderful pieces!!!

Marlis, congratulations on winning those fabulous plates! I am so excited for you and you did a wonderful job in pulling everything together for your tablescape. The crystal pieces are gorgeous, along with the silver and the additional plates. Also, I wish I had that lovely tablecloth - it is such a soft, pretty color.
ReplyDeleteMarlis, congratulations, those are beautiful. I love anything blue but these are so special. I know you will find so many ways to use them.
ReplyDeleteAlso special that Dad can visit for dinner.

ReplyDeleteMarlis,
ReplyDeleteAn elegantly set table indeed, dear friend!!!
How precious to be able to celebrate with your Dad for his 97th Birthday!!!
The silver trays truly accent the lovely new china at your placesetting. Adore your choice of stemware. . .exquisite!!!
Had to chuckle at the men and cloth napkins! My son looks at ours and says, "NO.", goes to the cupboard and gets paper ones, everytime!!! Where did I go wrong??? Ha!
Thanks for sharing your new dinnerware with us!!!
Fondly,
Pat

You lucky little duck! What a lovely score. What a delight for the senses it must be to be invited to one of your tables. Forget the food, just sit and admire the table!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning a lovely prize! What a beautiful table you've set for your Dad's birthday celebration...and it's a special one for sure!!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, Your new dishes are wonderful with the platinum edging! And you have really set a beautiful table to display them on. That's a good tip for the linens. I will definitely try that instead of the bleach I usually spot onto the stains. Great shot of the blue moon. Have a nice day! Linda
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you lucky dog! The accent plates really are special. I adore the light blue Williams Sonoma cloth. It creates the perfect ground for your design. Crystal...can one have too much crystal on the table. I'm thinking....no. A beautiful table for family or company. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteMarlis, I'm thrilled you won those plates. They are stunning on your table with the crystal, silver, and your lovely Wedgwood Windsor. You know how to set a gorgeous table. Monogramed white linens are the best!

Big congrats on your win! The dishes are beautiful, and you laid this out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to win such beautiful plates! And crystal knife rests, swoon :) I think it's lovely you pulled out so many beautiful things for this table in honor of your Dad~and I do appreciate the oxiclean tip, I rarely use delicate napkins just because I don't want to care for them! They are the ultimate luxury though and your monogrammed ones are beauties!
