Red, Green or Christmas? Do you know to what this refers? Red chile, green chile or both! Yes that is how much of the food in the City Different is served. Once again... yes, again, we made a brief trip to Santa Fe, NM. Chips served on the Coyote Rooftop Cantina.. a perfect meal.
I love the architecture!. Predominately anything in a territorial or adobe. With plenty of crosses and religious artifacts. Swoon.
It was barely warm enough to sit in the open air for breakfast at the Cafe Paris... They do have the most delectable croissants. Especially when fresh out of the oven.
The plaza was all decked out getting ready for Fiesta this upcoming weekend. The Burning of Zozobro.. I wrote about that HERE.
We looked at art....
And discussed the "need" desire for more dishes.... you can guess how well that went over!
We bought some clothes.. not necessarily these. Gosh I loved the vest out of the old serape and the embroidered boots.
More art, I really loved that necklace.
And loved the halloween decor, (Can you believe it's almost here?) from Things Finer.
At Cafe Sena, the flower boxes were trimmed out with the lids from old wine crates... LOVE!
And we love to watch the sunsets from the bell tower at the La Fonda Hotel.
And I fell in love.
Hard.
With all my soul.
Agreeing to work at least another year.
An orignal santos.
Very, very old.
Oh my, so precious.
No, she didn't come home this trip.
Soon.
Thank you for dropping in today. I am so glad to be back and have much to share with you!
What a lovely town to visit. So much color to enjoy. I'm afraid I've only been to the not so artsy parts of New Mexico. And drove to Albuquergue airport late at night. Hope you attain your goal. :0)
ReplyDeleteMarlis,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photography! Thank you for taking us along on your Santa Fe Trip!!!
Fondly,
Pat
What a nice getaway! You deserve it after the last few weeks you've endured!!! How's your mouth feeling, by the way? I'm not sure exactly how you were able to leave there without buying at least a FEW dishes AND those embroidered boots, but I understand how husbands can put us on lockdown! :-) The views you got to enjoy were priceless!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFunny how you opened the post: red green or Christmas. We were just talking the other day about how it has been too long, time to go back for a "fix." I am still quite disappointed that we didn't move there, but my husband likes the "green" of the East. I think we will be heading that way pretty soon. Thanks for sharing. Hope you get your santos.
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, She is indeed a beauty. I have never been to Santa Fe, but it is high on my list of places to see. I hope you are able to bring the santos home with you. Linda
