Monday Photo of the week - Mums and Indian Summer

Indian Summer
Nothing can steal your heart away
Quicker than Indian Summer days,
When the sun is warm and the shadows are cool,
The lake water stands like a bright blue pool.
The warm sand begs you to bare your feet
The balmy air is meadow-sweet,
Leaves are falling from colorful trees,
And nature has moved in, merely to tease...
She comes with her warm days, just to betray...
For winter is only a breath away!

I say better late than never.

I hurt my right wrist - it's better.
We've hung drapes. I finally made a decision
We've cleaned the yard. It's been a long HOT summer.
Regan (our kitty) was sick. He's better.

I'm ordering new drapes for the living room. I made another decision.
I planted pansies. I planted mums.
We've made some changes in the house. I made more decisions.
We were out of town to celebrate our baby's 30th birthday.
My brain is tired!

Please enjoy the photos of the mums. These came from the wholesale florist. Isn't the color variation fabulous?

Thanks for dropping in and giving of your time. It's humbling. May your blessings be many!

  1. Hi Marlis,
Your photos are beautiful! It's gotten really hot/humid here again too. Just when you think it's over, Indian Summer sneaks in. I'm hoping it gets cooler soon and feels more "fall like".
You sound super busy so here's hoping all goes well (and your wrist is better soon : )
    Take Care,
    Danielle

  2. Welcome home. I intend to shop for potted mums for the back porch this week...and I need to call the gardener to plant my pansies pretty quickly. I always hate to pull up the impatiens when they are still so lush. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Cherry Kay

  11. hi Marlis, Sound like you've been very busy, all while your hand is healing. I'm going to Lowe's this afternoon for mums. Its been to hot for them on the front and yesterday glorious fall arrived with lows in the high forties and highs in the seventies. Now maybe they will survive if we don't have an early frost. Hope your rested up and the hand is better. Your beautiful photos inspired to head to Lowes...........
