Good Luck in the House tablescape for one

A plate from which I ate as a child. At my grandmother's house. There is another - somewhere. Note to self - find it! It was my favorite plate. Even as a child - I loved transferware! Shocked?

A wool shawl casually strewn about the table. White dinner plate instead of a charger. Brown napkin. Curvaceous crystal. Perfect for dinner for one.

Especially for one, bring out the candlestick. Light the candle.

Use the rosewood handled flatware.

Glück im Haus - Good luck in the house.

No clue who the maker is.

Dinner for one - Marie Callender's chicken pot pie.
Husband at meeting. House to self. Smiles.

Cast:
Shawl - gift from my dear friend Susan.
White dinner plate - Wedgwood Windsor
Bowl - German eons old, just like myself
Flatware - brass with rosewood handles gift from mom
Glasses - Mikasa French Countryside
Napkin - Tuesday Morning
Barley Twist Candestick - Antique English

I'll be visiting all the pretty tables at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch Tablescape Thursday party. I hope to see you there.

  4. Hallo Marlis,

  5. What a wonderful plate & memories it evokes! I have some of my grandmother's everyday dishes that I have fond memories of helping her dry as she washed them, maybe that's why so many are chipped :-) Love that you have candles & gorgeous goblets just for your pleasure!

  13. Marie Callender chicken pot pie: $3.25. Hubby at meeting & house to self: PRICELESS!!! The weather must be giving you a bit of a break. This table setting is so cozy...like you're nesting. It seems that when the weather starts to turn a bit cooler is when I start to pull out the items that mean the most to me. That bowl is obviously a great treasure. I hope you are able to find the other one. I love the super-curvaceous stemware, too! You could name it Marilyn Monroe! :-)

  20. Note to self - get that plate soon. I wonder if it got broken along the years. What a fun plate. There are such huge memories with the things we grew up with. I hope we are creating wonderful memories too. I love your soft shawl and how comforting it is, even when you are eating alone. Have a wonderful day, Jacqueline
