The best thing about being married to my husband is the sisters I've gained.
Oh, don't get worried, that is just a funny the three of us have been saying since
I married their brother almost 37 years ago.
This year we went to Ruidoso and stayed at one sister's cabin.
We ate.
We made fresh guacamole.
We ate.
We took naps.
We ate.
It was only a wee bit cooler than home.
We ate.
We shopped.
We ate.
It did seem that we were "snacking" our way through the days.
This sweet fawn came up to the deck and wanted to visit.
Or eat?
Yeah, i think it was eat.
So my sister (in law) feed him some bread. I think she is going to have a problem now every time she's up there. But let's not tell her.
What we did in Ruidoso, NM
Well, eat of course!
We went to Casa Blanca - a "must"
Rickshaw; a sister to Casa Blanca, sat outside, the food was amazing!
The Village Buttery - ooh, sat outside, great food.
We went shopping.
We did see the Peter Hurd gallery.
Stopped at a Lavender Farm that was for sale and not open (frown)!
We bought beef jerky from a small store in Roswell - ooh I'm stopping there again!
We had a great time!

Morning, Marlis! OH, how exciting! I love Ruidoso! It's been so many years since we were there and we have some dear friends who live there! We lived in Roswell for 10 years! It wasn't all crazy then though like it is now. Our children grew up there and we just loved living in the beautiful state of New Mexico. Glad you had so much fun with your 'sisters'. That's the kind of sisters I have too! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Marlis, it sounds like you had a great time. I want to visit this place. I love Arizona so I am thinking New Mexico is similar? That fawn was so adorable, and no fear at all. That is one cute photo. xo,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip Marlis and yep, I'm sure you'll see the deer again:@)
ReplyDeleteI just have one question. Did you eat?
ReplyDeleteI don't have single a sister-in- law. My husband had four brothers and no sisters. I guess I could count the wives that two of them have. It sounds wonderful, between the fellowship, and the sights, and all that eating.
Isn't that deer precious?
How wonderful that you had the time to enjoy each others company! You all look like you were having a wonderful time. God bless!
ReplyDeleteHey Marlis!!! Thank you so much for listening to me on SRT, and for leaving me such a sweet, sweet comment. You're the best!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Ruidoso! I've never been there in the summer though. We used to go there quick for weekend ski trips in the winter. Had more fun there than we did in Telluride!
xo,
A
What a wonderful time, Marlis. I've never been to Ruidoso. I have a necklace named for it. A friend made it for me.:-)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun, Marlis! Looks like there is so much love among all of you and it is wonderful to see this kind of relationship...Christine
