Welcome to another issue of Tablescape Thursday!
I've got some exciting news to share with you... I'm hosting a Mikasa giveaway!! Was I ever excited when Mikasa contacted me. You not only get to vote for your favorite pattern amongst three, but if you are the winner, you will receive 6 placesettings of the pattern that is voted as the favorite! Just in time for spring and summer entertaining. Are you excited??? Surely you are.... more details after the tablescape. I've been enjoying the wisteria along our back fence for a couple of weeks now. Today, I had decided I wanted to preserve the feeling I get when I step out our back door by bringing some in for this week's table. For your party - do not create your centerpiece until the last minute, Wisteria doesn't like to be taken off the vine, but will gladly last through an evening or brunch.
Silver charger, white dinnerware, reticulated salad plates, lace rimmed napkins, silverware, Mikasa crystal, one wisteria bloom = a perfect Sunday brunch!
Silver trays are estate sales finds. White dinnerware is always a perfect background. German silver.
Reticulated salad plate, green edges, fruit, green leaves, blueberries all perfectly coordinate with the color of wisteria.
Laying a wisteria blossom on the napkin brings the color down on table level. Always a good tip to remember. |
Embroidered coasters brought back from a trip home to Germany. |
The wisteria are secured in a crystal bowl using an old fashioned prong frog. |
Place cards are the permanent kind on which you can write with a marker and later wipe off! |
Silver candlesticks, silver salt and pepper, and silver butter dish add richness to the table. |
Hope you enjoyed the last of the wisteria blooms. They are slowly fading and dropping, being replaced with the verdant green of new growth.

ReplyDeleteThanks Marlis, now I can post....hmmmm
ReplyDeleteLove the table settings that you do, this has to be one of my all time favs! Love the Springtime look with the Wisteria....bravo!!!
Marlis, your table is just stunning! I've always loved wisteria but don't have any in my current yard. Your centerpiece is amazing! I have been one of your followers for a while now, voted for Antique Orchard on FB, and would love to win whichever set is voted favorite!
ReplyDeleteYour table is so inviting and I have the exact same wine glasses, although in my house they are used for sparkling cider or water. I'd vote for the apple orchard dishes since I prefer fruit over cake or candy.
ReplyDeleteI follow on GFC! (amweeks). And I voted for Daylight!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Marlis! I have never seen wisteria growing like that. It's beautiful!!! I think I've only seen it around here being trained up a trellis or arbor. The sheer abundance over your fence just increases the beauty! It makes me think of movies like "Sense & Sensibility" and "Little Women" for some reason. Just gorgeous! And on your table...fabulous! The graceful drape is so dramatic! It's perfectly paired with the silver elements and wonderful lacy-edge napkins. I love it! I'm off to Savannah, GA tomorrow. Airplanes...ugh! :-( Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteYour table scape with the wisteria is just beautiful! It is such an inviting and bright table setting.
ReplyDeleteLovely table and oh, how I wish I could grow wisteria here! I have those same 'base' plates :)

ReplyDeleteMarlis, this table is just stunning. I'm so jealous of yet another southern planting that we can't grow up here, your wisteria is spectacular and your tablescape built around the color is perfect.

I love Wisteria in all colors, lavender, pink or white. But I can't get mine to bloom [tried all kinds of fertilizers] so I go out and photo the roadsides where it grows like weeds up telephone poles, trees and fences. I think it is so romantic and that is what comes across with your tablescape.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
Lovely! I will try something similar with lilacs as soon as mine bloom.
ReplyDeleteAs for favorite pattern, I must put my vote in for Daylight. I just love the simplicity of it and find it quite contemporary. I think it would nicely complement my Pure Red collection.
Loved the tablescape; love the Mikasa giveaway!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablescape! Love the wisteria! Mikasa is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMarlis, I love the casual elegance of your beautifully set table! The wisteria is so romantic and I love your use of silver pieces and the crystal bowl for the flowers. Thanks for the chance and have a wonderful week :)
Love your beautiful table. I wish I had some wisteria...it is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteNothing around my place is green or blooming yet. Water costs too much (and it's fixing to go up) so we haven't watered our lawn in a couple of years. Pretty pitiful but when you are on SS, things are very tight.
Thanks for liking my thrifted dishes..the flatware...a gift from Mr. Sweet..our 51st anniversary.:))
I am a new follower of your lovely blog. Please enter me into the Mikasa giveaway. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower. I have looked at several of your tablescapes and they are each one lovely and elegant. The purple wisteria, silver, and white are so soothing and delicate. I especially like how you list the "Cast" at the end. Thank you for posting such inspirational tablescapes. This is a new concept to me. I voted for the Antique Orchard. It reminds me of my mother's Flintridge china of the 60's
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and became
ReplyDeletea follower. Signed up for e-mail also. Love the Daylight and would

ReplyDeleteI am a new follower of yours and while I write this comment I am listening to the lovely hymn from your last post. It is so pretty and I do not understand a single word in the German language. I read the words in English and it touched my heart! Your table is so delicate and romantic....soft, quiet, dreamy, and elegant! Wisteria is one of my favorite blooming flowers and it always reminds me of Victorian times. I can just see a Bridesmaid Luncheon happening at your tablescape! The tall silver candlesticks are speaking to me....LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and I really love the Wisteria (one of my favorite flowers) Also love the German linens. Looks lovely for any kind of luncheon. Gives me an idea for getting my Play Posse together.

Wasn't it sweet of Coty to mention us both this week? She's as generous as she is talented.
What a great giveaway you and Mikasa are offering your readers! I like all three patterns, but Daylight is my favorite. How great would it look with red-violet flowers and/or table linens? Imagine the possibilities!

I loved this tablescape when I saw it the other day and I continue to enjoy it. Interestingly, only recently I too used unpolished silver in a tablescape. It adds such an interesting texture.
