Frozen tundra.
Temperatures in the single digits.
Windchills below zero.
Ice.
Snow.
When will it be spring?
I long to see the tulips raise their heads.
When will the vinca bear it's blooms?
And crocus show their happy smiles? |
I long to eat beneath the trees, by candlelight without wool mittens.
I know, I know. I must wait. God's timing is perfect.
Spring starts March 20, 2011 7:21 pm EDT!!
But, alas, I cannot wait!

ReplyDeleteI am longing for Spring too, Marlis. I love the snow shot and all the Spring photos.
ReplyDeleteOh Marlis, you've created such a poignant story. Thanks for these great photo's and the prose.
ReplyDeleteHi Marlis,
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you came to Normandy today, so that I could come over and see your snowscape.
My friend Sarah, another Texan, has the same weather as you do, isn't it crazy?
Did I spy a green, artichoke plate in one of your pix? Is it Gien?
I have several, similar to yours, with a caramel brown glaze, I think they are gorgeous.
You and I are on the same wavelength with this spring longing. March 20th huh? Maybe I can will it here sooner.LOL

My sentiments exactly Marlis. I am so over this winter, although the snow that is falling right now is so quietly beautiful that it makes me tearful.
ReplyDeleteMy post yesterday is much like your's today as to our tiredness of winter. Kindred spirits I guess.
Tomorrow when I'm shoveling the walks again I'll be tearful for another reason.
WOW I am so impressed. 300 days of posting. 300 days of making us think, love, encouraging and adding beauty to our lives. Thank you for making us slow down for a least a few minutes and smell the flowers. Hoping spring flowers come quickly....
ReplyDeleteBrrrr! That IS cold! Love all of your photos of the flowers. I can't wait for Spring either. laurie
ReplyDeleteSpring can't get here fast enough! Sometimes I wish I could hybernate!
ReplyDeleteI am with you, Marlis. I can't wait to have a pool party and do a tablescape outside....Christine
ReplyDeleteYour writing sounds like a song! Longing for Spring seems to be what every blogger is singing these days. Your winter garden is lovely, though. Hopefully I will get a chance to see it in the Spring!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Lovely snaps and I'm yearning for spring too! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I'm with you. Can't wait for spring to come. It's been a hard cold winter, but it will end eventually.
ReplyDeleteI always say that it starts on the FIRST of March. I know that's cheating but it means I don't have so long to wait!! Impatient? Me?!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up.
