Are ya confused? First pic inside, this one outside. Well the Mrs couldn't make up her mind. So she started outside and then decided against that and moved the party inside. It might've been a bit nippy even with the patio heaters to sit outside this evening.
The center piece inspired this whole table settin'. The folks had been to the Mr's 45th class reunion the night before and they saw these terrific center pieces. A resin boot with a gorgeous blue and red arrangement of blooms. Boot's hot glued to the plant saucer and then a bit of Texas dirt was spread around the boot. Keeps that ol' boot from tippin' over.
Red carnations and blue delphiniums with a few thistles thrown in for good measure. Colors of the Mr's high school. Scarlet red and Columbia Blue. Go Plainsmen!
See that great Moda tablecloth? The Mrs knew she had it and remembered it when she saw the ol' boot. She'd had it for a while and bought the last two napkins too match. She's still searching for a few more!!
Each corner of the tablecloth shows a different Texas thang - oil wells, the Alamo, a stage coach and a cowboy on horseback.
She pulled out her cowboy and cowgirl place card holders.
And the larger cowboy and cowgirl rusted iron tabletop knick knacks.
'Cause some great cuts of steak were on the menu, out came the Laguiole knives and her kitchen silver.
They all love these Sky Ranch dishes.
The iced tea pitcher - a gift from her cowboy son.
Napkins tied up in a bronze metal star picked up in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Favorite Ironwood salad bowls. See the cowgirl placeholder peekin' in the background?
Oh yeah, the good kitchen crystal for that good ol' iced tea!
We bid y'all adieu. Tippin' my hat to ya for droppin in. Please leave the Mrs a comment to let her know you done been here. She'd be pleased as a peach.
Linkin' up with the lovely hostess Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. See ya there, do drop in, it's a party not to be missed if you like your dishes! Also stay tuned for a CSN product preview to come!
How darling, Marlis! That tablecloth is fantastic, and I do hope you can find more of the matching napkins! The boot centerpiece is really clever -- I'd have never thought to include some authentic Texas dirt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun table, Marlis! Everything looks so pretty. My hubby would love this for sure!...Christine
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about this one. I love the way you carried that Texas theme from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteThe boot centerpiece was the FIRST thing that I loved, but it wasn't the last. Placecards... napkin ring Lone Stars... the linens and plates. I just loved it all and the perfect way it all went together. This is one of the best fun tablescapes I've ever seen.
First time stopping by your blog, I came by Susan's TT. Just love the tablecloth. I have a thing for vintage tablecloths. You put everything together so beautifully. Those dishes just make me smile!

ReplyDeleteMarlis, although I haven't lived there in 15 years, I've got nothin' but Pure D Texas Blood runnin' through these here veins -- and I'd say you successfully pulled off a "Texas" tablescape! (I know right where Mineral Wells, TX is, too. My parents live there!)
