Fall on the patio

We are still enjoying beautiful weather. It's cool at night and still warm during the day. It's probably my favorite time of the year!
Once again, we find ourselves outside for a late night fall dinner. I was so inspired by all the pumpkin centerpieces from last week's Tablescape Thursday that I knew I wanted to try to create one myself.

Layered a teak charger under a white plate under a wooden salad bowl. Rosewood brass ware yet again. You would think it's the only set I have!

Four different pumpkin napkin rings around a large color-blocked woven napkin.

Amber goblets for a more hearty Rosé.

A "designer" pumpkin on top of of some green Spanish moss.

Autumn colored woven napkins seen better with a view from above.

Instead of fresh flowers, a garland wrapped into a wreath shape surrounding the pedestal.

 Green votive holders

Dusk has arrived, the candles are lit, the amber glasses reflect the lights above and the lights on the table.

The table all aglow.

Thanks for dropping in. We love company.

Cast:

Tip: Do you have chargers on which your plates skootch around? My husband hates that, and makes no bones about it. Solution? Purchase some of the foaming type shelf liner from Wal-mart, cut into circles and place between the plate and the charger. No more sliding around! Marriage saved.

Please drop in at Susan's Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch for some wonderful inspiration! I'll be linking on Thursday! Your comments make my day!

  1. Thanks for your sweet comments on my witches in the woods. Sometimes I think my kids think that I am crazy, but yes, I pictured it totally in my mind.

This table is gorgeous. I adore those napkin rings. The warty pumpkins are just fabulous. You really captured it in the candle light. I love the one with the light in the tree.

  3. Those fall napkin rings are the PRETTIEST that I've seen. Period. I just love them. The whole table is so pretty and so very much my taste. Love those glasses, too.

The only thing even prettier is the the table by candlelight.

  6. Marlis, I love what you did with your table! The wooden chargers are the perfect compliment to that fall look, and I like the wooden bowls and flatware you used, the napkins, rings, white plates, and the centerpiece. That's a great idea about how to decorate with a pumpkin as a centerpiece. Very, very cute fall tablescape! Love your goblets, too.

I did something different this week. I went pink. Yes, I know that fall is fall colors, but I was feeling, well... rebellious! LOL! It's due to the fact that I've been cooped up with a husband who had surgery and took nearly a month to recuperate. He's better so I can joke now. ;-)

    Happy Tablescape Thursday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  24. Did you ever think that we would think of a pumpkin as a designer pumpkin?....and yet it is a great centerpiece...it looks especially great on the pedestal. We're enjoying our lovely fall weather, too. The one time of year that we can count on nice enough weather to dine al fresco. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
